Francesca Jarosz Brady is a recovering journalist turned communications consultant/education policy nerd. She moved to Indy about a decade ago for a job at the Indianapolis Star and now works in the Indianapolis office of VOX Global, a DC-based public affairs/strategic communications firm. By day, she writes op-eds, speeches and other copy and develops communications strategy for a variety of clients in the education arena. When she's not on the job, Francesca enjoys running, mentoring, and practicing and teaching yoga. She lives in Butler Tarkington with her husband, Ryan Brady.
Alex Mattingly is a writer living and working in Indianapolis, where he pursues the scrump life with his usual gusto. He holds an MFA in creative writing from Butler University, and a Healthy Heart Certificate from Pine Tree Elementary's Jump Rope for Life program. He is excited to be returning to the IndeTale stage. You can hear his previous IndeTale story here!
Maureen McAteer is a native Hoosier studying medicine at Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine and is a member its inaugural "guinea pig" class. In her spare time, the little that she has, she is an accomplished connoisseur of all things edible, a fan of running slowly on beautiful days, and enjoys spending a small fortune on hand pampering. Maureen proudly shares middle-siblingship between two brothers with her African twin sister. She is engaged to Alex, her accomplished personal chef and long time fellow nerd, who also happens to also be a twin. Maureen hopes to become a pediatrician and in doing so polishing her ability to convince toddlers and their parents into vaccinations happens to align well with perfecting public story telling.
Ken Oguss lives in Broad Ripple. He works with many forms of story as a professional teller, filmmaker, oral history editor, author of screen plays and flash fiction podcasts. A good slice of spoken story must have tasty ingredients to please our senses, a flexible foundation with stretch and yet a bit of crunch. And the most important element to good story and good NY pizza is the origin of its water.
Robert Pascuzzi is also back for his second IndeTale appearance. Born in Iowa, he is a product of the fabulous public school system of South Bend, IN and IU-Bloomington. He stuck around IU for Med School, and then shipped out to Virginia during the Ralph Sampson era to learn Neurology. He has been back in Indy since 1985 and is currently a neurologist at IU. He has a thousand or more stories about Neurology but that's not the topic of the program. He also has an amazingly supportive family and friends. You can hear his previous IndeTale story here!
Frances Whitener moved to Indianapolis in 1977. During her time here she has directed plays and taught puppetry, creative drama, and beginning acting classes for children. She also taught public speaking for 4 and 1/2 years at I.U.P.U.I. She has told stories for both adults and children for the past 15 years. She was the winner of the 2014 Frank Basile Emerging Stories Award.
Erika Wilson is a seeker of truth, love, justice and the pursuit of spontaneous acts of joy. By day, she's an Assistant Director of Web and Digital Media at IUPUI School of Science. By night, she's walking barefoot eating the world and insomnia cookies discovering her passion for activism and showing love. She can be found enjoying music and hookah with friends, protesting, organizing and advocating for social and environmental justice, media literacy and eating vegetarian. She hails from Warsaw, Indiana, lives in Irvington and loves smiling - it's her favorite - :-D

Jen Bingham is a freelance writer and editor. She’s had pieces published in McSweeney’s, The Rumpus, Midwestern Gothic, and other journals. She’s Poetry Editor and a regular contributor at Punchnel’s where she writes a (somewhat) regular column called Random Reviews. She would really like to meet a narwhal.
April Evans (Formerly known as Aprezzy, Prezzy f baby, or even Pre), prefers to be called Aprili. She was recently certified in surfing North American couches and is accepting offers to bless residences. A former Biologist and current Public Health Enthusiast and MPH student, Aprili decided she must pursue the life of an artist this year and write a few memoirs. She attended North Central High School where she participated in Relay For Life and showed off her best Counterpoints jazz hands.
Madaline Foglesong is a writer and new mom from Monticello, Indiana. She has no time to Google phrases like "how much does Botox cost" and "strawberry vodka recipes" and "sexy shoes" now that she has a baby, but she has plenty of time to Google phrases like "green seedy baby poop smells like vinegar" and "baby ate tiny piece of paper" and "how to baby proof" and "how to baby proof more". While she might have had a little bit of an "anxiety issue" in the past, Madaline Foglesong is dealing just fine with the anxiety that comes with being a new mom, thank you. No really, she's fine. Just fine. Seriously, she's fine.
Margaret Henney lives, works and plays in downtown Indy, thus known affectionately as "Downtown Marge" to her friends. She earns a living as the Group Sales Manager at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, but knows impressively little about classical music. She loves the arts, traveling, all things Butler, and enjoys Pilates as it allows her to exercise while laying down. Although she was a thespian in her former life and considered going pro at giving maid of honor speeches, IndeTale is her first experience with live storytelling.
Peter Kamwendo loves people, stories, listening and laughing. If he could say three things to you they would be; you matter very much, hope is real, and you are loved. And if you would listen to him say one more thing it would be; Do what you love, don't let comfort take that from you. We all need what you have, remember you're a gift to this world and you're one of a kind. He spends his days making a difference at IU Health. He is proud Malawian! and beyond that, is just living the dream. You can read his blog at www.livingvillage.me or follow him on Twitter @peterkamwendo.
Troy Montigney works to make college more affordable for students and families as Executive Director of the Indiana Education Savings Authority. A recovering only child and resident of Fall Creek Place in downtown Indianapolis, he enjoys craft beer and matte helmets and typically karaokes the Notorious BIG's "Hypnotize" instead of telling stories.
In 1953 Robert Pascuzzi was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa (where the Potawatomi Indians would hold council in the bluffs that overlooked the river), lived for a stint in Mason City, Iowa (the home of Meredith Willson and also the death place of Buddy Holly- not the day the music died), grew up for a while in Rochester, Minnesota then really bulked up in South Bend, IN. A product of the fabulous public school system (Nuner, Edison, and John Adams High School), he went to IU with everybody else, stuck around IU for Med School, and then shipped out to Virginia during the Ralph Sampson era to learn Neurology. He has been back in Indy since 1985 and is currently a neurologist at IU. He has a thousand or more stories about Neurology but that's not the topic of the program. He also has an amazingly supportive family and friends.
Our Host: Patrick Herrel is a native of Columbus, OH who has spent the last 4 years living and working in Indianapolis. He spends his days at a local education nonprofit, tells too many stories about his interest in crossfit, bought a house across the street from his college best friend, and has forgotten nearly every word of Italian and Latin he ever learned.

Cruz Baisa is a happily engaged 27 year old brother to 8 wonderful siblings. He is currently living out his peachy existence in Columbus, IN with his beautiful fiancé, Hillary Apple. He earns a living working for Cummins Inc. as a Corporate Social Responsibility leader with a big focus on Clean Cookstoves. In his spare time he likes to run and recently started learning to code for websites.
Caty Green (no relation to Sarah Green) is deputy editor at an investigative news nonprofit called Voice of San Diego, where she also co-hosts a weekly, unreasonably wonky podcast with two newsroom bros. She usually prefers being talked at, so the thought of being on stage instead is bringing up a lot of traumatic memories of summer camp talent shows. But she really likes her family in theory, and gets high off holiday cheer, so telling her story at IndeTale seemed like a pretty good bet. You can find her on Twitter here.
Sarah Green (no relation to Caty Green) wants to live a world where bears can be pets and every party has a theme. She specializes in using business jargon with a convincing assertiveness. Her childhood was like the Wonder Years, only funnier, and involved life-long friendship and court-ordered family therapy. She recently made poop jokes in front an audience of 18,000. Impressively well-rounded, she has more than one karaoke song. She did not attend North Central High School.
Alex Mattingly has published work with PANK, Annalemma, Midwestern Gothic, and other journals, and is a regular contributor to the Indianapolis-based web magazine Punchnel's. In the fourth grade, he lost his pants in a terrible merry-go-round accident, from which he never spiritually recovered. He confuses public humiliation for love, and could be charitably described as "troubling."
Ezra Nelson is a senior at Brown University studying cognitive neuroscience and economics. Outside of class he serves as co-president of Brown Storytellers, Campus Tour Coordinator, an economics teaching assistant, a cashier at FroYo World, and a research assistant in a computational neuroscience lab. Sally Perkins performs stories of all sorts--historical, personal, folk, ghoulish--to audiences of all ages. She was in this year's Indy Fringe festival with her comedic story "Out of the Doghouse, Into the Heart." Most recently she performed at this year's "Ghost Stories at Crown Hill Cemetery" event. tonight she'll tell you what feel like holiday ghost stories from her childhood! Check out her work on her website!
Patrick Stoffregen is an affordable apartment developer at Pedcor. He spent a year in Japan teaching English, has appeared on stage in many minor productions, and is happily engaged to be married. He is also a proud graduate of Fox Hill Elementary School, where he once won a third grade dodge ball game with a broken arm. Those who witnessed the event still talk about it.

She served the cultural community of Indianapolis as the Managing Director for the Phoenix Theater from 2000-2012 and is currently the Vice President for Development for Indiana Landmarks. A native of Los Angeles who moved to Indianapolis at age 13, Sharon considers herself a "naturalized Midwesterner."
